MWC 2012: Android Becomes The Clear Winner

The trend observed at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 seems to be repeating at the Mobile World Congress being held at Barcelona. Android emerged as the clear winner on Day 1 of MWC 2012. From Android tablets to smartphones, MWC turned out to be a perfect platform for an Android lover. OEMs including HTC, Samsung, Sony and Huawei showcased their Android devices on the first day of the show and expressed their intent to continue with the platform for their future devices as well.

HTC One X


11.9-cm (4.7-inch) Super LCD 2 display with 1,280x720p resolution, Android 4.0, Sense 4.0, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, 1.5GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 1,800mAh battery, Beats Audio, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 32GB of internal storage, 25GB of online storage for two years (via Dropbox), and HSPA+ 42 connectivity.

HTC One S


10.9-cm (4.3-inch) qHD Super AMOLED display, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon from Qualcomm, 1.3MP front camera, Android 4.0, Bluetooth 3.0 and Beats Audio.

HTC One V


9.4-cm (3.7-inch) SLCD2 WVGA display, 5MP camera, Beats Audio, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, Android 4.0 and 1GHz single-core processor.

Huawei Ascend D Quad


11.4-cm (4.5-inch) IPS+ display, with a pixel density or ppi of 330, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel HD front-facing camera, 4 CPUs and 16 GPUs, Android 4.0, quad-core chipset clocked at 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of ROM, support for HSPA+, 1800 mAh battery power.
