Monday, January 21, 2013:
Micromax seems to have hit the sweet spot with the Indian mobile base in the country by sort of re-launching its Canvas Android-based smartphone in a new avatar. The Canvas 2 smartphone, A110 has clearly caught the imagination of the consumers and has packaged features that meet all the requirements at an attractive price point.
Moving on, looking at the success of Canvas 2, Micromax has decided to strengthen its Canvas range by adding new models every two months, according to a Mobile Indian report. The company has reportedly talked about selling around 5,500 Canvas 2 handsets daily and has already started working on its Canvas 3 model, which is expected to be powered by a quad-core based processor and will be priced sub Rs 15,000 figure.
Micromax's co-founder and business director, Vikas Jain has reportedly said, "We are currently selling around 5,500 Micromax Canvas 2 handsets daily and have started testing Micromax Canvas 3. I will not be in a position to share the exact time frame by when Canvas 3 will be launched. But do expect something around March." This report coincides with Micromax's intention to launch a quad-core based smartphone during the same time.

Micromax Superfone Canvas A110 (Canvas 2) is the successor of Canvas A100, and is available for Rs 9,999. It has a 12.7-cm (5-inch) screen with 800x480 pixels resolution as its predecessor but comes with an 'IPS panel' that offers better viewing angle.
Micromax Superfone Canvas A110 comes with an 8 MP rear camera and a front facing shooter also. Also Canvas A110 has a dual core 1 GHz processor.
Samsung made its name with Galaxy range of devices in the country and now it seems Micromax is also taking cue from the Korean smartphone giant and working towards charting an identity for its Canvas series.
