Asus Padfone 2 Gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

Asus Padfone 2 is likely to arrive in the Indian market by the end of this month.

Offering an upgrade to its customers, Asus is rolling out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade for its smartphone cum tablet Padfone 2. the update s available over the air.
The Jelly Bean update is first available for the Taiwanese customers. However, the company is tight-lipped about rolling out of upgrades in the other countries. Asus announced Padfone 2 in October and the device is available only in select countries so far. As reported earlier, Asus Padfone 2 is likely to arrive in the Indian market by the end of this month.

The device sports a massive 11.9-cm (4.7-inch) 720p HD screen, is loaded with heavy duty components, from a quad-core Qualcomm processor to 2 GB RAM. It comes with a 13 MP rear camera and a 1.2 MP front camera. From connectivity point of view, the device has LTE support and NFC functionality and to enable them to work for a long period of time, the PadFone 2 is backed up with a 2,140 mAh battery.
The PadFone 2 will be launched by the end of December in European countries, which include Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, and many more. While in Asia, the countries fortunate enough to get a glimpse of the PadFone 2 are Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and UAE. Availability in other countries will be announced at a later date.
