With the idea of honing the engineering skills of students in India, Microsoft is now bringing up 14 innovation centers across the country. Microsoft Innovation centers aim to train the students in the latest technologies and make them employable as per the current technology trends.
Microsoft has signed MoUs with the leading educational institutions of four states including Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Tamil Nadu. These institutions will target over 100,000 students in these states.
Microsoft will continue with the mission and will further expand these centers in other states as well. Microsoft Innovation center is a part of worldwide program where the company has vowed to establish 75 MICs across the globe. The company plans to launch 100 MICs in the next two years in the other states across India as well. These MICs will work as centers of student research and innovation at the selected institutes.

Each center established in one institute will be the hub for five other neighbouring engineering colleges. The idea is to attract more students to the program. The process of establishing 14 centers will begin next week in cities like Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Rajahmundry, Khammam, Bapatla, Guntur and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, Raipur in Chattisgarh, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Trichy, Vellore, Coimbatore, Madurai and Selam in Tamil Nadu.
With these MICs, Microsoft aims to train the students in newly developing technologies including Mobility (Windows Phone), Cloud (Windows Azure), Kinect, Accessibility and Healthcare. Microsoft also wants to encourage entrepreneurship amongst the students. The company already has program called Microsoft Spark, which provides certification courses to the students. So if you think you have innovation capabilities, reach out for this program!
