Zen Mobile, who is known in the domestic market for its feature phones, has finally made its big venture into the smartphone segment with the launch of its Zen Mobile U1. This is the first ever smartphone by the company and is priced at Rs 4,999.
The device focuses on the youth of the country. It is a dual SIM smartphone running on Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The handset features 8.89-cm (3.5-inch) and is bundled with 1 GHz processor. Zen Mobile U1 sports 3.2 MP camera along with a flash and for connectivity options you have GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP etc.

Initially, the smartphone will reach out to customers through the online shopping portal- Homeshop18 and later on it will be available in the market.
The U1 is a thin and compact device built with battery life of 1200mAh. The smartphone comes pre-loaded with applications like Skype, Facebook and G-talk. It is also incorporated with Map My India mapping software.
