It seems Google did not pay much attention on the testing of Android 4.2 aka Jelly Bean before its release. The new software has some bugs, which may be fixed in a future update, but an error in Android 4.2 is not just a minor bug that can be ignored.
Google has missed out on adding the month of December in Android 4.2 People app, which means that you cannot add birthdays for contacts born in the last month of the year. And it is not that Google has just missed out on December in 2012. There is no December in Google's app at all.

The blooper was not apparent from the launch day of Google's latest Android. Nexus owners took some time to discover this one. Due to Android fragmentation, Android 4.2 is still not available on most of the Android devices out there.
Since the issue is highlighted, we should expect Google to fix this one as soon as possible as this kind of error opens up the platform for attack from the competition. Given the fact that Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer has already criticised Android as 'wild and uncontrolled', Google should pay even more attention on making the platform robust and error-free.
