Friday, November 16, 2012:
Raspberry Pi surely seems to be an inspiration for many. After a host of alternatives of the small-sized PC, here is another player who has recently entered the market with PC-on-a-stick. A company called Miniland has announced the launch of MK803, a $79 Android-based PC which comes in the form of a dongle. There are several other such small-sized PCs already available in the market including the MK802, Kimdecent, UG007, Z2C, Favi, Droid Stick T10 and the Minix Neo G4.
The MK803 looks like a fat flash drive, which comes packed with an Amlogic AML8726-M3 processor operating at 1.5 GHz. It is based on an ARM Cortex-A9 design and is expected to be a better performer than its predecessor MK802. The PC-on-a-stick runs Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich out-of-the-box but the company says that it will support Linux operating system soon.
