NASSCOM Plans To Make India A Software Product Hub

Technology and software providers are interested in the Indian SME market due to the immense rise in numbers and growth potential of this category.

On Thursday, Nasscom announced that it plans to make India the most successful hub for software products worldwide. To reach out its goal, it looks forward to use several initiatives that are being taken to develop the market.

According to the Economic Times report, Som Mittal, president, NASSCOM said while addressing the ninth edition of product conclave, “The product landscape has leapfrogged in India over the years. And in an effort to pursue this vision, NASSCOM is making representations with governments across levels, recommending them to set up an entrepreneurship mission,change in procurement guidelines and access to funding.”
The 'NASSCOM AWSME India Survey 2012' was released at an event, which said that new technology and software providers are more inclined towards the Indian SME market owing to the increased numbers and growth potential in the category. And this is said to be the most appropriate time for the IT industry as it is growing towards the IP and products.
IT spending in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) will reach $1.154 trillion in 2013, a 1.4 percent increase from 2012 projected spending of $1.138 trillion, according to Gartner, Inc. Despite the ongoing economic malaise, Gartner sees pockets of growth in IT in Europe, mainly driven by devices and software. Big data will also change the landscape of IT – creating new jobs.
