TCS Looking To Hire 12,500 More

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a 49 per cent year-on-year hike in its net profit at Rs 3,434 crore and its net revenue is up by 34 per cent Rs 15,621 crore for the second quarter of 2012.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced its financial report for the second-quarter of 2012, and have revealed that it will be recruiting a total of 25,000 students though campus placements this year. Till now, 12,500 candidates have been already recruited and another 12,500 candidates will be selected by the end of this year. "We've hired 18654 this quarter in India. We're sticking to our hiring plans." Out of this figure, 10,205 were trainees, 5,764 were laterals and 2,685 were overseas employees,” said Ajoy Mukherjee, HR head, TCS.

HCL Technologies, which announced results two days ago, far outperformed industry average and posted a 78 per cent growth in profits. Wipro, is yet to announce its earnings. TCS, whose results came after stock trading closed on Friday, roped in 41 new clients, added 10,531 people and brought attrition to 11.4 per cent, the lowest in 10 quarters, during the July-September quarter.
The company said Rajesh Gopinathan, vice-president, business finance, will take over as the next chief financial officer when S Mahalingam retires next February, according to an HT report.
