Indian IT, Software Engineers Are Underpaid, Says Report

According to a Business-Standard report, Indian Software / IT companies are among the worst 10 paymasters in the software industry.

Are your overworked and underpaid? While almost every working professional will feel that he falls in this category, there is a report that has validated this for Indian IT and Software engineers. According to a Business-Standard report, Indian Software / IT companies are among the worst 10 paymasters in the software industry.

The report further states that while the mid to senior level staff in Indian IT companies get a package of Rs. 21.5 lakh, their counterparts in Switzerland make about Rs. 93 lakh per annum. The study was carried out by MyHiringClub.com, which is a global recruitment services provider involving software / IT engineers with about 4 years of experience and above. The firm carried out their study in almost 6000 companies across 40 countries. The report claims that western Europe is the best paymaster.
Well, there is a silver lining (if not too silver, but). IT and software engineers in China are paid almost $100 lesser on an average, than Indian software project manager. Other countries that pay lesser are Bulgaria, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.
