Tizen SDK Beta Released!

With this beta, the Tizen Association encourages the developers to start working with the new features and functionality to provide feedback that can be used to improve Tizen during the final stages of its development.

The Tizen Association has released the Tizen SDK Beta and Source Code Updates. Tizen, the successor of MeeGo, has taken inspiration from MeeGo which could not do very well despite continuous efforts from Intel and Nokia to build this Linux-based smartphone OS.
With this beta, the Tizen Association encourages the developers to start working with the new features and functionality to provide feedback that can be used to improve Tizen during the final stages of its development. You can visit the community page to learn more about the entire process.

While announcing the availability of beta source code, Tizen said, “The Tizen SDK and API will help the developers use HTML 5 and other related Web technologies to develop applications which can operate across multiple device segments like tablet, smartphone, smartTV, netbook and in-vehicle infotainment.”
The official announcement from Tizen says compared with the earlier code preview, the beta has additional features, tools and other improvements, including SDK support for Windows, in addition to Ubuntu; SDK source code is now available; Tizen Web UI framework extends jQuery Mobile to make developing Web applications easier with optimised widgets; Tizen Web API provides more features, such as setting an alarm, accessing media contents, retrieving system information, and more.
