Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has announced plans to launch three tablets in partnership with Pantel, a Noida-based company. The three tabs are Penta TPAD IS701R, Penta TPAD WS704C and Penta TPAD WS802C.
Penta TPAD IS701R is a 17.8-cm (7-inch) tablet powered by 1GHz processor. It comes with 256 MB RAM which can be increased to 32 GB storage via memory card. It has a resistive touchscreen and comprises a camera in the front. It comes with a price tag of Rs 3,499.
Penta TPAD WS704C also features a 17.8-cm (7-inch) capacitive touchscreen and is powered by 1GHz processor. It has 512 MB RAM, which is expandable to 32 GB storage via 4 GB built-in memory card. It is facilitated with front and rear cameras. This tab is priced at Rs 9,917 and comes with a SIM card slot.

The third tablet, called Penta TPAD WS802C, has a 1.2 GHz processor and a 20.3-cm (8-inch) capacitive touchscreen. Similar to Penta TPAD WS704C, this tablet also comes with 512 MB RAM which is expandable to 32 GB storage via 4 GB built-in memory card and front and rear cameras. Priced at Rs 12,678, it also features a SIM card slot.
All the three BSNL tablets run Android 2.3 operating software and come with a one-year warranty. Also, they come equipped with WiFi and 3G dongle support. It is quite possible that BSNL may facilitate customers with subsidised data plans.
