Amazon.com has silently posted jobs for game developers as dozens of jobs can be found on the official website if you punch in level game designer, digital video games engineer, game changer and more.
This new development coupled with the success of the Kindle Fire (next to Apple iPad) made tech experts speculating over Amazon's next move. It is being expected that Amazon is preparing for the next big leap - social gaming platform.

However, the sudden interest of the world's online retailer in game design and seeking game developers is surprising everyone. P J McNealy, founder of Digital World Research, believes that Amazon is amassing resources to potentially become a force in mobile social gaming.
The company is all set to usher in the tablet gaming era basking in the success of Kindle Fire and the reported rise of gaming on tablet devices, as per the insight of tech experts. Amazon Kindle Fire holds the No. 2 position in the tablet market, with Apple iPad topping the chart.
In a research note published couple of days back, McNealy suggested that the company is well positioned to capitalise on the growing popularity of its tablet device, says LA Times. "Amazon is quietly lurking, and gaining strength," McNealy wrote. "And they’re hiring."
Amazon is currently hiring game developers for catagories which include "level game designer", "digital video game software engineer" and "game changer." In one job posting, Amazon said, "We've been hard at work building various games." The company wants "a creative Game Designer who knows what it takes to make a great game and has experience doing so."
With more than 6,000 applications for Android and Kindle devices on Amazon App Store, Amazon may be planning to enter social gaming market, which is currently dominated by the most popular social networking site Facebook.
