Saturday, February 04, 2012:
Xiaomi is making the source code of MIUI open source. The creator of MIUI Android ROM has made available the link https://github.com/MiCode for the run down of apps which have already been made open source.
Presently, the company has announced released source for the Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread version. It is worth mentioning here that MIUI has been designed on the code from the Android Open Source Project and CyanogenMod. Its interface includes elements from Android, WebOS, iOS and other sources, which render it a unique look and features.

|
Every Friday, MIUI is updated based on the feedback from its users. It is then translated to English by their translation team for all to use.
The release source code is the latest Gingerbread 2.3.7 build. The code may not work for other device (including the phones and tablets supported by the MIUI developers); it is a great opportunity for the developers to start who want to modify the ROM or port it to an unsupported device. More codes are expected to release in future.
