After Windows Phone 7 and Mango 7.5 OS, Microsoft is coming up with Windows Phone 8 Apollo operating system. Though it is not decided yet that when Windows 8 handsets will make their way in the market but the details are out about this latest OS. It is a highly improved and detailed version of Windows Phone 7 and is now in the run with Apple and Google.
It is being said that Apollo will add support for multi-core processors, new screen resolutions (a total of four), removable microSD card storage and will also offer NFC support. Apart from this it provides you tap-to-share capabilities that will reportedly work across multiple platforms--allowing desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones to all share content. It also runs the Xbox app and is equipped with skydrive support and will favour WiFi over a cellular connection, reports Pocketnow.com.

The list of changes and advancements in Windows Phone 8 does not end here. There is much more in store for the Windows Phone lovers. It now includes Skype and a Windows Phone app for the VoIP service that will feature deep integration with the OS.
A new live tile and app called DataSmart will make it easier for users to manage their data usage. Windows Phones are now said to be in the league with this transformation and are competing with Android and iOS.
